The Library has the following service units.
Library provides lending service to both the faculty and students. All the books are bar coded and barcode scanners are used for issue and return of the books. Bar Coded ID cards are issued to all the library members. The student members of the library can borrow books for a period of 15 days. The faculty can borrow five books and return the same at the end of the particular semester. The users are requested to return the borrowed books to the library on or before the due date to avoid the penalty of Over Due Charges. Members are requested to obtain the NO DUE CERTIFICATE from the library at the end of the course or service.
Renewals shall be made upon presentation of the book borrowed for an additional period of two weeks only provided there are no other demands for them.
If a desired book is in use at the time requested, a “hold” may be placed on it by completing a reserve slip. The reservation slips are kept in the circulation section. When the book becomes available, it will be reserved for the requested user for one day. Users are requested to check the status of the reserved book daily.
Photocopying and printing facility is available at reasonable cost in the library. This service limited to library materials without violating the copy right law.
Anti Plagiarism Software: NIE Library subscribed for anti-plagiarism: web-tool Turnitin to facilitate students and research scholars for plagiarism check of project reports and technical papers.
We had provided current information is about the up-to-date knowledge in the area of interest, which is needed to be aware of recent development, so that researcher or user can give shape to his research accordingly and his time will be saved and engage them in other areas of research.
We had provided personalized service meant for the individual or a group of users having identical information needs. It is a quick service which provides the pinpointed and exhaustive information to the users.
Central library arranges photocopies of articles from journals, conference proceedings that are not available in its collection from different sources. This service is offered within the purview of copyright laws. To make a request please email to library@nie.ac.in
Set of books will be issued for the duration of a semester and must be returned latest on the last examination day of that semester.
The entire Central Library collection including books, journals, CD-ROMs etc. can be searched through the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC).
Readers may approach the Reference Desk for information or any assistance in the use of the Reference Sources
The Central Library functions on all working Days except National Holidays.

The Central Library offers Inter-Library-Loan service to its users for the books and periodicals articles not available in the library by procuring them from DELNET, New Delhi. The Central Library, in turn, also lends its resources to the libraries of other government and academic Institutions on reciprocal basis.
We had arranged separate section to students for reading/doing home works/group projects/ discussions/ seminars/collaborative works etc. Laptops/Mobiles/Note Books are allowed except Food items and Personal Bags. Faculty can have group discussions / project viva of students /Any Competitive quizzes with these students can avoid sitting outside.
This service includes the following: • Alert to renew Library materials before due date. • Reminder to return/renew overdue Library Documents. • Reserved books return Notice. • Reserved book collect Notice. • Weekly New Arrival alert.
All the question papers of exams are scanned and e-question papers are uploaded in the intranet. users can access the question papers from their desktops anywhere in the campus The, Users can save the question papers on their CD’s/pen drives. Through this service users are made aware of the new library services, facilities, current events, paper clippings on Employment News, Placement tips etc.
New Arrivals provide latest additions to the library. Newly arrived books are displayed in the New Arrival Rack placed at the entrance of the library.
Photocopying of materials available in the library is provided on payment basis. This service is for NIE Faculty, Students and Staff only. Please remember that photocopying a complete document is violation of copyright act.
Registered members can issue books for home study except reference during circulation hours. Issued books can also be renewed online subject to the reservation against the book and max. Limit.
