LIBRARY RULES& REGULATIONS

  • Before entering the library, one needs to sign the register at the library entrance
  • Before checking books out of the library, one needs to present books and other materials to the staff at the entrance counter
  • Silence is to be maintained within the library premises
  • Personal belongings are not allowed inside the library
  • Refreshments are not allowed inside the library
  • Mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphones are strictly prohibited within the library premises
  • Personal textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed in library reference section Library Cards
  • Two library cards will be issued per student.
  • Library cards are not transferable. The borrowers are responsible for the books borrowed using their card.
  • Library borrower cards are to be maintained with special care.
  • Books will be issued for 14 days only on the presentation of library cards. Students are advised to inspect books being borrowed and inform the librarian in case of any damage. They will be held responsible for any type of damage to the book noticed at the time of return.
  • A fine amount of INR 1/- per day per book will be charged on overdue books.
  • The librarian can recall any book from any member at any time and the member is expected to return the same immediately.
  • If the books are lost, then the borrower needs to replace the books of the same edition or the latest edition or pay double the cost of the book after getting permission from the librarian.
  • Loss of the library borrower's card should be reported to the librarian in writing. After checking, they will be issued a duplicate card on payment of INR 5/card.
  • No Dues Certificate: Borrowers should return their library cards at the end of the academic year and prior to the commencement of the written examination or Hall tickets being issued to obtain a No Dues certificate.
  • Care of Library Books: Students are required to handle books very carefully. Stealing, marking with pencil, writing or highlighting, tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be taken very seriously inviting stringent measures. In such a case, the reader will be held responsible unless this is brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.

  • DELNET : Library is a member of Developing Library Network (DELNET), New Delhi, Which provides services like browsing of Union catalogue and databases, Union catalogue of books, Union list of current periodicals, Theses and dissertations profile of member libraries, Inter Library Loan, Documents Delivery Services. Interested readers can access the catalogues of other Libraries through DELNET and request the required books/ journals to be procured from these libraries on loan for a limited period.
